Landscaping

The information and guidelines contained herein are to be used whenever applicable. In the event a development is to be constructed in stages, master utility plans are required prior to submittal of the first stage improvement plans. The master utility plans shall show all improvements, including interim (phased) and ultimate improvements. LANDSCAPE (WATER EFFICIENT LANDSCAPE ORD. NO. 238)

The purpose of the Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance 238 is to insure efficient landscape irrigation water use. All new and rehabilitated landscapes 2,500 square feet or greater for (1) public agency projects; (2) private commercial and industrial projects; and (3) common area landscapes in single-family and multi-family subdivisions or planned unit developments shall comply with the Ordinance. In addition, at least one model home that is landscaped in each project, and consist of eight or more homes, shall be designed to be water efficient.  A copy of Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance No. 238 can be purchased at the Public Services Counter or by calling (408) 586-3329. All plans shall be prepared on City’s Landscape/Recycled Water Title Bocks.
