Grants
Grant Opportunities
The City of Milpitas, through Parks & Recreation Services, provides several types of Grants for individuals and organizations in the areas of sports, arts and child care providers. The Cultural Arts Support Program grants are awarded once a year. Youth Sports Grants and Family Child Care Assistance Funds are available throughout the year until the funding has been exhausted. New funding starts at the beginning of each fiscal year (July). Please see the policies and procedures for details on each grant.
Milpitas Arts & Cultural Grants (MACG)
Through this grant program we hope to increase and deepen participation and access to arts and cultural activities for the Milpitas community. We also hope to encourage coalitions and collaborations between artists, arts organizations, and other sectors to infuse the entire community with arts activities. MACG Grants (up to $2,500) are designed to underwrite arts activities, projects, or performances in the Milpitas community. Any organization, neighborhood group, or artist in the Bay Area may apply, but the activity must take place in the City of Milpitas, and be open to the public. This is a competitive grant program.

Family Child Care Assistance Fund Grant
The purpose of this fund is to increase program quality in Milpitas family child care homes. By submitting a grant request to the City, approved Milpitas family child care providers have the opportunity to purchase services and supplies which will create safer and more enriching environments for children. A family child care home is defined as a business, licensed to provide child care services in the provider’s primary residence. All family child care homes are described as small or large, depending on the number and ages of children cared for, but can serve no more than 14 children. The City of Milpitas’ Child Care Master Plan, adopted April 2002, introduces the vision “Quality Child Care: an investment in the future of children, families and our community.” Since it’s inception in 1996, this grant fund has supported this vision by investing in quality improvements for Milpitas family child care providers.

Youth Sports Grants
Two different types Individual Youth Sports Grant or Youth Group Sports Grant are available.
The purpose of the individual grant is to allow individuals representing Milpitas in a sporting event to submit a request for funding assistance from the City. A youth is defined as an individual 18 years and younger. The City of Milpitas believes that the enjoyment of sports by youth in Milpitas is important to the well-being of its youth and to the overall enrichment of the community, and that an excellent way to assist the individuals, as well as build a positive relationship with them is through this fund.
The purpose of the group is to allow local youth sports organizations, which provide services within Milpitas in a sporting event to submit a request for funding assistance from the City. A youth group is defined as a group of individuals all of whom are 18 years and younger. The City of Milpitas believes that the enjoyment of sports by youth in Milpitas is important to the well being of its youth and to the overall enrichment of the community, and that an excellent way to assist the youth sport groups, as well as build a positive relationship with them is through this fund.
