2008 Homeowner & Renter Assistance Program
The 2008 the Homeowner & Renter Assistance Program begins on July 1, 2008. A claimant qualifies if:
- You are 62 or older, blind, or disabled; and
- You are a United States citizen, designated alien, or qualified alien when you file the claim, and
- You owned and occupied your home or mobile home on December 31 of last year; or
- You paid at least $50 rent each month; and
- Your household income for last year was $44,096.00 or less.
Bring the following documents to your appointment:
- Proof of age or disability,
- Property Tax bill for 2007-2008 (if you are a homeowner),
- If you rent: the Name, Address & Phone Number of your landlord,
- ederal and State Tax Records for 2007,
- Other Income Records for 2007,
- Your U.S. Passport or Green Card (if you were not born in the United States)
PG&E /HEAP Assistance
Do you have difficulty paying your PG&E and are considered low-income? If so, the Home Energy Assistance program can help you. You must meet the following requirements:
Household Size Income must be less than
1 person $1,838.50 per month
2 persons $2,404.20 per month
3 persons $2,969.89 per month
4 persons $3,535.58 per month
5 persons $4,101.28 per month
6 persons $4,666.97 per month
Please bring the following documents:
- Proof of income for the current year (for all members of the household)
- All pages of the current PG&E bill (not older than 30 days)

For assistance with water bills, contact the City of Milpitas' Finance Department.
Seniors who need assistance should call (408) 586-2775 to make an appointment. If you “drop-in” to see the Case Manager, an appointment will be made for you to return at a later time.
Case Manager office hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00-3:00 pm.
