Police Reserves

The Milpitas Police Department has had a police reserve program for many years. The City Council has authorized a compliment of up to fifteen (15) reserve police officers. Police reserves are required to complete a minimum of eighteen hours per month. The Department provides initial uniforms and safety equipment. On-going training is provided by the Department.

 

Applicants for police reserve must have successfully completed the basic Police Academy or equivalent prior to applying. Application packets must be obtained at the Police Department, 1275 No. Milpitas Blvd., Milpitas - and will not be mailed. Recruitment information may be obtained from Police Personnel and Training at (408) 586-2407. The selection process may include a mandatory orientation workshop, an oral interview, and a physical agility exam to be placed upon an eligibility list. Further testing includes a full background investigation, a polygraph examination, a psychological interview and examination, and a physical examination.
