Street Sweeping |
Street sweeping is provided by Allied Waste Services. Please call Allied Waste Customer Service at 432-0444 for your neighborhood's schedule. Residential streets are swept the week day following your garbage collection day, every other week. There are some exceptions for holidays. Commercial streets are swept weekly. Call the City of Milpitas Public Works Department at 586-2600 if you have any concerns about this service.
Over 14,300 curb miles are swept annually in Milpitas! You can help keep Milpitas' 139 street miles clean by moving vehicles off the street from 7AM to 5PM on your service day.
Move your cars on street sweeping day! Regular sweeping removes the dirt and pollutants that accumulates on streets. Vehicles parked on the street block curb access and eventually allow debris to enter the storm drain, local creeks, and the San Francisco Bay. Thanks for doing your part to keep our streets and Bay clean year round!
Fall / Winter Leaf Clean-up: Fall is a beautiful time of year – until all the leaves drop from the trees! Be on the look out, your neighborhood may have older, larger trees. Set out leaves and branches in your Yard Trimmings Recycling Program cart every week to keep these materials out of storm drains. In targeted neighborhoods, streets are swept once a week from November – January. You will receive notification from the City of Milpitas if you live in one of these neighborhoods. |
