Work Experience:

  • 2003 to present: Vice President- Operations - Cartridge World North America LLC.
  • 1997 to 2001: Assistant General Manager - Great Mall of the Bay Area.
  • 1985 to 1999: Owner and Operator of a 7-Eleven Store. Complete responsibility for operation of this $1.4 million per year retail outlet, including budgeting, employee hiring, ordering and inventory control, customer service and accounting.
  • 1989 to 1991: Executive Director of the Building Industry Association. Responsible for operation of a non profit trade association with more than 300 members. Duties included fund raising, government affairs, volunteer coordination and public relations.

Volunteer Work:

  • Top fund-raiser in Northern California for the Muscular Dystrophy Association 1984. Participant in March of Dimes fundraising events (Walk-A-Thons and "Jail or Bail") for more than 8 years.
  • Sponsor of annual "Celebrity Lunch" for the Leukemia Society of Santa Clara Valley.
  • Volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.
  • Board Member of Outreach and Escort.
  • Milpitas High School Booster Club Member.
  • Board Member of the Milpitas Foundation for Education.
  • Reserve Police Officer, City of Campbell: 1977 to 1979 & 1981 to 1982.

Background:

Having served as California's youngest City Councilman in 1975, Bob Livengood is now one of California's most experienced elected officials.

His two terms as Mayor of Milpitas in the mid 1980's produced the DARE program, the renovation of the old Samuel Ayer High School into the Milpitas Sports Center, the approval of the Terrace Gardens Senior Housing, the construction of 3 major hotels, a sustained economic boom for the City of Milpitas and the construction of many major transportation improvements.
