The Building and Safety Department is committed to fulfill the needs of our community, to protect the lives and safety of the citizens of Milpitas, to preserve the City quality of life and contribute to the City's economic development. We strive at all times to achieve the highest professional standards and to provide exceptional personalized service that creates a pleasant experience. We promote health and safety in public and private construction and safeguard citizens of the City through enforcement of building codes, City standards and regulations. We work to promote and ensure that new structures and public improvements construction meets all required standards of safety, and that existing structures are maintained in safe conditions. We provide assistance to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Housing Rehabilitation Program to enhance the quality of life for low-income families.
