- 1985 to 1999: Owner and Operator of a 7-Eleven Store. Complete responsibility for operation of this $1.4 million per year retail outlet, including budgeting, employee hiring, ordering and inventory control, customer service and accounting.
- 1989 to 1991: Executive Director of the Building Industry Association. Responsible for operation of a non profit trade association with more than 300 members. Duties included fund raising, government affairs, volunteer coordination and public relations.
Volunteer Work:
- Top fund-raiser in Northern California for the Muscular Dystrophy Association 1984. Participant in March
of Dimes fundraising events (Walk-A-Thons and "Jail or Bail") for more than 8 years.
- Sponsor of annual "Celebrity Lunch" for the Leukemia Society of Santa Clara Valley.

Background:
Having served as California's youngest City Councilman in 1975, Bob Livengood is now one of California's most experienced elected officials.
His two terms as Mayor of Milpitas in the mid 1980's produced the DARE program, the renovation of the old Samuel Ayer High School into the Milpitas Sports Center, the approval of the Terrace Gardens Senior Housing, the construction of 3 major hotels, a sustained economic boom for the City of Milpitas and the construction of many major transportation improvements.
