The City of Milpitas will hold its next regularly scheduled municipal election on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Local election is held each November in even numbered years. On the ballot for voters will be candidates for the office of one Mayor (2 year term expiring in December 2022) and for the offices of two City Councilmembers (4-year terms expiring in December 2024). Incumbent office holders may run again for new terms. Candidate filing closed on Friday, August 7, 2020. Qualified residents who would like to file a Nomination Paper to be a write-in candidate for elective office may do so during the following dates: Monday, September 7, 2020 through October 20, 2020. A phone appointment with City Clerk is required for candidate filing.
Any candidate who wishes to begin fundraising prior to the start of candidate filing may do so by forming a Committee, filing FPPC Form 501 with the City Clerk, filing FPPC form 410 with the California Secretary of State, and filing campaign reports (Form 460) with the City Clerk at appropriate filing deadlines.

Affidavits (voter reg. cards) of Voter Registration are available at Milpitas City Hall in the lobby, at the Milpitas Library, and at other locations.

Where do I vote?
In 2020, all voters will be welcome to vote at new “Vote Centers” throughout the County of Santa Clara. Also, all Registered Voters will receive ballots in the mail, sent to the address on the voter’s registration form on file.
