Opportunities See/Share Art and Performances by Milpitas Residents

  • Coming soon!

Indoor Activities

  • Share your musical talent. Borrow an idea from Italy and open your window to play or sing a song for your neighbors. Do be considerate, though, and only share one song per day, and not when your neighbors are sleeping!
  • Challenge yourself in the kitchen. Make a new recipe. If you are really feeling adventurous, pick four random ingredients you have on hand and try to create a dish, like they do on Chopped.
  • Check your home for water leaks and inefficiencies. Order a free Water Wise Survey Kit from Valley Water. Get the kids involved with these activities from the Environmental Protection Agency.

Outdoor Activities

  • Take a walk, jog or bike ride in your neighborhood or a nearby park. Remember to maintain six-foot social distancing from other families. All Milpitas playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts are closed during the shelter-in-place.
  • Chalk your walk, driveway, patio, or concrete deck. Use sidewalk chalk, or for more vibrant pictures, chalk pastels. (Do not use oil pastels.) Share a picture of your masterpiece by tagging #MilpitasVCC or email a jpeg to recpub@ci.milpitas.ca.gov for possible inclusion in our virtual Phantom Art Gallery.
  • Take up bird watching in your own yard or neighborhood. Take notes or photos of the birds you see, and later use Cornell University’s All About Birds website to try and identify any unfamiliar species.
