NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Milpitas City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 7:00 PM at Milpitas City Hall in the Council Chambers, 455 E. Calaveras Blvd., 2nd floor, Milpitas, CA on the following topic:
WEED ABATEMENT ASSESSMENTS: On Tuesday, February 4, 2020, the Milpitas City Council adopted Resolution No. 8943 declaring noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon certain described properties to be a public nuisance which must be abated by the removal of the weeds. The resolution is on file in the City Clerk’s office.
If weeds were not removed from the properties by the owner, they will be abated by the County of Santa Clara Consumer and Environmental Protection Agency – Weed Abatement Program at the direction and proper authorization of the City of Milpitas. Cost of removal will be assessed and made a lien upon the land from which, or in front of, the weeds were removed or such other remedies may be invoked as the law allows. This public hearing will be the time and place to hear all property owners having objections to the proposed assessment for the cost to remove weeds.
