Hello Sports Center Members,

With the release of the State of California Public Health Order effective June 15, the City of Milpitas Lap Swim and Water Exercise programs will return to a drop in program and reservations are no longer required beginning Monday June 21.

Swimmers will be able to attend lap swim at any time during current lap swim hours at the Sports Center which are:

Yard Pool
Monday – Thursday 7:00am-7:45am and 11:45am-12:30pm
Saturdays 8:00am-8:45am and 10:00am-1045am

Meter Pool
Monday-Thursday 7:00am-1:00pm and 4:00-8:30pm
Saturdays 8:00am-12:00pm

Water Exercise

Monday – Thursday 8:00am-8:45am, 4:00pm-4:45pm and 5:00pm-5:45pm
Saturday 9:00am-9:45am

Lap Swim and Water Exercise

  • Lap lanes are for exercise purposes only. Please do not use the designated lanes for recreational
    purposes.
  • It is not necessary for chaperones to be in the pool during lap swim. However, chaperones must supervise their children ages 14 – 17 while they swim laps and must be present on the pool deck, and may not wait inside the Sports Center.
  • The number of swimmers will be restricted to 4.
  • Two lanes will be restricted to water walking only in the yard pool, and will be designated with an orange cone.
  • When necessary and based on participant’s level of comfort, please share al lane with other lap swimmers in order to accommodate more participants.
  • Splitting the lane – when two participants share the lane with each participant only using one side of the lane.
  • Circle Swimming- Can be performed by up to 4 participants swimming laps in a circular direction keeping to the right.
  • If other participants are waiting, please limit your time to 45 minutes or invite them to share a lane with you.
  • There is no longer designated session time and duration. Participants can attend the program at any time during scheduled lap swim hours.
  • Participants will check in and pay at the front desk by swim pass, credit card, or cash.
  • Outdoor showers are now open.
  • Locker rooms remain closed at this time.
  • Come dressed to swim and be prepared to leave in swim attire. Locker rooms and showers are closed, and changing in the restrooms is not allowed.
  • A chair will be available for you by the pool, to place your belongings on while you swim.
  • In case of rain, please have your belongings in a water proof bag.
  • No equipment will be available for use, i.e. kickboards, pull buoys, water exercise dumbbells, and noodles. You may bring your own.
  • Face coverings are required while indoors at the Sports Center facility, no face coverings in the pool.
