Founded January 17, 1961. The Library Advisory Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on matters pertaining to the operation of library services and facilities in Milpitas. The Commission consists of seven members and two alternates. Members and alternates are appointed to two-year terms.

The Library and Education Commission shall hold meetings the 3rd Monday of every January, March, May, September, and November, at 7:00 PM at the Milpitas Library Conference Room, or a designated location.
