Public Records Request
California law designates the vast majority of the City’s records as available for public disclosure. The City of Milpitas utilizes a 3rd-party software, NextRequest, to request, respond, and track all public records requests. The portal allows requesters to communicate with the City about their respective public records requests while also viewing documents that have been produced in response to commonly received public records requests.
Please note that the 10-day response window to provide a determination starts the day City staff receives the request. Any requests submitted on weekends, holidays, or after 5:00 pm will not be considered received until the next day during regular business hours (Monday through Friday through 8 am to 5 pm).
